The Latest News On The Tax Credit !
First the
no so good news: After 8 attempts, Congress has
failed to extend the $2,000.00 Investment Tax Credit. The
tax credit is now
scheduled to expire on December 31st 2008.
If you haven't already bought a solar system, applied for and received your rebate
approval which can take 30 to 60
days, signed contracts with an available,
experienced contractor who has already
supplied plans to your local municipality,
applied for the electrical permits and had
those plans and electrical permits approved,
installed the systems, and had your system
inspected by both the utility company and
the municipality then chances are good that
you're probably too late to take advantage
of this Federal tax credit. That's IF you
qualified for the tax credit in the first place.
Dealers may try and tell
you that they can install your system in
time for the tax credit but the one thing
that no dealer has control over is the
rebate approval process with the utility
company and the local permitting and inspection process.
